Mending Night W/Jared Desimio

We took a breather for the holidays, but are back at it for our third mending night with master clothier and mender Jared Desimio. He’s an expert in the techniques of visible mending - i.e adding aesthetic and practical value to your worn out and weary clothing, and he’s a pretty nice guy. Come hang for a few hours and bring some projects. For $10 we’ll provide you with a glass of wine, Jared’s assistance, and access to some mending supplies and fabric. And don’t forget that Wednesdays now are also host to “Slow Night, Slow Food,” - we will prepare a slow cooked hot comfort food inspired dish every Wednesday. Come, sit over a bowl of steaming hot food, commune with new and old friends, and just relax.

Mending Night With Jared Desimio

Please join us for the second mending night! We will be holding one a month.

Jared Desimio is a local designer and artist who is most interested in combining rural and urban traditions as an expression of style.

This is an opportunity to learn and share, meet new people, and express your unique style. Come cozy up with your sewing kit and a glass of wine for an evening of stitching and friendly conversation. Brink whatever supplies you have, something to mend, and an eager mind! We will have some fun fabric and mending supplies here for you to use as well.

Visible mending and sustainable approaches to style are great ways to renew a tired, stale wardrobe while also reducing consumption and creating a better relationship with clothes.

$10/ gets you a glass of wine, access to cool materials, and the ability to pick Jared’s brain and get some great advice on mending techniques. What a lovely to spend Sunday evening…
